Charter School Aglow Over Festival Success
The final figures are in…Cherokee Charter Academy netted $13,000. That's the most money from any fundraiser in the school's 5 year history.
Cherokee Charter Academy wants to thank the school’s students, staff, families and community partners for the shining success of CCA’s “Light Up the Night” Community STEAM Night & Fall Festival.
The money earned will go to students; specifically class projects in the school’s STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art & math) lab.
It took thousands of hours of planning, preparation and hard work to entertain the estimated four to five-thousand people who crowded the school’s Canton campus.

More than 17-thousand tickets were sold for unique glow-in-the-dark hoopla, STEAM activities and carnival games. LUTN also featured a student market, food, community vendors and live entertainment.
Lyn Carden, Chairperson for CCA’s Local Governing Council says, “’Light Up the Night’ was a great way to combine many of the innovations that Cherokee Charter Academy offers to our students and families, we couldn’t be happier with its great success. Many thanks to our parent and teacher volunteers for their tireless efforts for that event and year round.”

Cherokee Charter Academy is a tuition-free, accredited public charter school. The school is open to K-8 students who live in Cherokee County.
