Chattahoochee Tech Lands on '25 Largest Colleges and Universities List'

From Chattahoochee Technical College: Chattahoochee Technical College will once again be featured in the Atlanta Business Chronicle’s annual Book of Lists after earning a spot on the publication’s listing for the “Area’s 25 Largest Colleges and Universities.” Ranked by enrollment for fall 2016, Chattahoochee Tech was named the ninth largest college in the area, which is an increase over last year’s 10th-place rating.

“We are extremely pleased that Chattahoochee Technical College has been recognized as the ninth largest college in the metro-Atlanta area. Our ranking is truly a testament to the quality education more than 14,000 students receive annually,” said President Dr. Ron Newcomb.

Accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges and a unit of the Technical College System of Georgia, Chattahoochee Tech is the state’s largest technical college, offering 70-plus associate degrees, diplomas and certificates in 45 programs of study through traditional classroom courses as well as online training.

On the first day of the 16-week fall semester, Chattahoochee Tech’s enrollment totaled more than 10,000 students, which is an increase over last year’s 9,955 students. The college also saw a record-high 1,027 participants in its Move on When Ready program, which permits high school students to enroll in college classes for credit at no cost.

“I am immensely satisfied with our fall 2016 enrollment numbers. The growth illustrates our commitment to providing essential, affordable and accessible education,” Newcomb said.

The college’s Marietta Campus remains the top physical campus for student enrollment with more than 4,000 students registered for the fall semester. The 294,648-square-foot, 12-building campus is conveniently located on South Cobb Drive and features the greatest number of programs out of all CTC campuses.

The North Metro Campus is the college's second largest campus with about 2,800 students enrolled during the fall semester. The 172,335-square-foot, seven-building campus houses multiple programs, including Industrial Maintenance and Electrical Technology, Horticulture and CNC Technology.

Located in the heart of Dallas, the Paulding Campus is the exclusive home to CTC’s Associate of Science in Nursing program and currently serves roughly 900 students. In Cherokee County, more than 1,300 students utilize either the Canton Campus or the Woodstock Campus for fall classes, while another 407 students are enrolled at the Appalachian Campus in Jasper. More than 750 students enrolled for courses at the college’s Mountain View Campus this semester.
