Program Director Phil Klein said satisfying the accreditation process required the college to provide documentation about the program, complete a self-study and host an on-site visit. The program also had to demonstrate that it met several standards set by the accrediting agency.
Chattahoochee Technical College’s Paramedic program, which is located on the North Metro Campus in Acworth, prepares students to provide advanced emergency medical care for critical patients. Students in the program are taught how to perform patient assessments and provide advanced life support. A requirement of graduation is that students must also complete a clinical component, during which students work alongside ambulance crews or with licensed healthcare professionals in an ER or ICU setting.
