Cherokee Charter's Top Scientists

CCA students have daily STEM instruction and the school is applying for state STEM certification.

For many weeks, the fourth through 8th grade students at Cherokee Charter Academy were busy refining their scientific method, forming hypotheses, conducting research and doing experiments in anticipation of the school’s 4th annual Science Fair.

At the fair, these winning students got to show off their efforts:

Carlos Hernandez was the top middle school scientist. Carlos researched the possibility of using plants as an alternative energy source. He developed a circuit allowing current to move through two different types of plants.
