Cherokee Deputies Bestowed Purple Hearts, Life Saving Awards

CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. — Cherokee Sheriff Frank Reynolds bestowed several awards Tuesday night to deserving sheriff’s office employees and citizens. Each quarter, Reynolds presents awards and commendations in front of the Cherokee Board of Commissioners honoring both employees and local citizens for their actions that are in keeping the of the highest standards and values of the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office, and that bring great credit to themselves, the Sheriff’s Office and Cherokee County.

Reynolds presented the “Sheriff’s Life Saving Award” to Deputy Jonathan Blair, Deputy John Brandon, Deputy Joshua Hester, Deputy Franklin Hicks and Deputy Eric Riffle.

“Meritorious Service Awards” were given to Deputy Ahmad Foster and Captain John New. Citizen Reyes Morales also received a “Meritorious Service Award.

A “Sheriff’s Commendation Award” also was presented during the County Commission meeting to Sgt. Matthew Butler. Citizen Tristan Francis also received a Sheriff’s Commendation Award from Reynolds.

New also received a “Law Enforcement Purple Heart” from Reynolds.
