The company of 33 actors is at work learning lines, staging, choreography and music for the timeless story of the night that reminded Ebenezer Scrooge of the true meaning of Christmas.
Behind the scenes, scores of visionaries (Elm Street volunteer partners) are putting together costumes, props, makeup and preparing to welcome the audience for this seasonal favorite.
“We can’t wait to bring ’(A) Christmas Carol’ to the stage again, and we are even more excited to bring a few schools in for field trips during the school week,” said Siobhan Brumbelow, education manager at Elm Street.
Over 400 students are expected to see the show to supplement their curriculum.
Mark your calendars and purchase your tickets now for this community tradition. The show runs December 5-24 at the Chambers at City Center’s auditorium, which is located at 8534 Main Street.
A preview of the show will be held at 2 p.m. Dec. 5 and is free with the donation of a non-perishable item for Papa’s Pantry.
The show will end in time for audiences to catch Woodstock’s Christmas Parade of Lights. Tickets are available at elmstreetarts.org or by calling 678-494-4251.
