Woodstock police spokesperson Brittany Duncan said a passenger vehicle traveling southbound on I-575 crossed the median and ventured into northbound traffic. The vehicle hit another passenger car — ripping off the back driver side wheel — and then struck a pick-up truck head-on, she added.

The collision forced the truck to flip on its driver’s side, Duncan stated.

The driver and two female juvenile occupants of the first passenger vehicle were transported to WellStar Kennestone Hospital with what appeared to be minor injuries. Duncan stated no other injuries were reported.

The driver of the first vehicle has been charged with failure to maintain lane and following too closely, she added.

“While it’s still under investigation, at this time I do not anticipate any additional charges,” Duncan stated.
