The garden is located on the Elm Street Event Green and features four other temporary sculptures.

“We are thrilled the Sculpture Garden has come to fruition,” said Elm Street Operations Director Christopher Brazelton, “It will be a beautiful attribute to downtown Woodstock, and the garden is a core element of our long-term mission to develop a culture center that weaves art into the fabric of our daily lives.”

The ribbon cutting is part of an ongoing project to develop a visual arts and cultural center in downtown Woodstock. The Sculpture Garden will surround the Reeves House, a historic structure members and stakeholders are working to renovate into a visual arts and cultural center as part of the “Revive the Reeves” project.

When completed, the center will include art studios, gallery, instruction space, an event kitchen, refreshment cafe and computer lab.

“Our campaign to Revive the Reeves is underway, but we wanted to establish a Sculpture Garden now," said Elm Street Arts board member Ann Litrel. "This development will pave the walkway and guide guests to the visual arts and cultural center. It will be a real treat for visitors to be welcomed into the space with these stunning sculptures.”

A variety of sculptures will be on display in the Sculpture Garden, including works by: J. Doyle Rogers, Tony Loadholt, Darrell Reddy and Ed Brackin. The sculptures are on consignment by the artists and are available for sale.

Funds for the foundations of these pieces were provided by Main Street Woodstock and the Rotary Club of Woodstock.
