Gold's Annalia Jansons to Swim for Liberty University in 2022
Annalia says, "I think Liberty chose me because I fit their team culture really well and will be a great addition to the team."
Chattahoochee Gold swimmer Annalia Jansons has given her verbal commitment to continue her swim & scholastic pursuits at Lynchburg, Virginia's Liberty University.
Annalia, a senior at Marietta's Walton High School, says she picked Liberty because it feels like home: "When I went on my visit everyone was so welcoming and I knew it was a place where I wanted to be. When I met the girls on the team, they were so excited to meet me and I was so excited to meet them."
Before looking ahead to Liberty, the 9 years she's competed for the Chattahoochee Gold club team have given Annalia much to fondly look back on. "My favorite memory by far would have to be breaking 5 minutes in the 500 with all my best friends. We had been working so hard to achieve this and we all did it at the same exact meet in the same heat. My best accomplishment while swimming at Gold was breaking the team record in the 800 Free Relay at Futures with the best teammates."

What'll she miss the most about her time with Gold? "My favorite part about swimming at Gold is the incredible friendships I have made throughout my years of swimming. All my coaches at Gold have always been so supportive of me and my swimming. A huge thank you to Coach Mike for always pushing to be the best I can be in and out of the water and Coach Austin for always believing in me. " Austin Sumrall says, "We’re excited for Annalia to commit to Liberty University! She will make a great addition to their team and make an instant impact at meets for the Flames."
In meeting the pending challenge of competing at a Division I university, Annalia says "My goals for Liberty are to grow not only in the pool but also as a person. I want to help to grow the team and make it even better than it already is. Another thank you to my family and teammates who have always supported me! I cannot wait to see what the future holds! GO FLAMES!"

Chattahoochee Gold is one of USA Swimming's top 100 programs. Headquartered at the Woodstock Aquatic Center, the team also trains swimmers at the Mountain View Aquatic Center in Marietta and the Cumming Aquatic Center.
