The projects — sidewalks at Ball Ground Elementary STEM Academy and Holly Springs Elementary STEM Academy and bike racks at those schools and at Bascomb, Carmel, Knox and Woodstock elementary schools and Woodstock Middle School) are scheduled to be completed by the state agency within the first month of school, weather permitting.
Schools are communicating with parents and are planning ways to incorporate these new features into their operations. One example is Woodstock Elementary School, which plans to make its new bike rack part of its participation this fall in International Walk to School Day, expanding upon an event that begin last year with support from partners including the Woodstock Fire and Police Departments.
