Hundreds Attend Cherokee School District Job Fair

More than 750 applicants took part in the fair held March 4 at River Ridge High School in Woodstock.

WOODSTOCK, GA -- More than 750 applicants descended onto Woodstock over the weekend to attend a job fair hosted by the Cherokee County School District Division of Personnel Management.

The annual event, held March 4 at River Ridge High School, was designed to attract teacher applicants as well as potential candidates to drive school buses and school nutrition workers to prepare and serve breakfast and lunch for students.

Attendance was up significantly from 500 job seekers last year; CCSD personnel staff on Saturday also participated in a metro Atlanta teacher job fair, which resulted in even more applications to consider for the coming school year.

The district anticipates the need to hire additional teachers, school psychologists, speech language pathologists, bus drivers and school nutrition staff to fill vacancies created by retirement and keep up with student enrollment growth.
