July 4th Spectacular Brings Fireworks, Parade To Woodstock

Woodstock’s Stars and Strikes July 4th Spectacular kicks off with the annual Freedom Run at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Now in its 19th year, the 5K race is $30 to register the day of the event. Details can be found on the race’s website.

Following the race, the annual parade will make its way through downtown. The parade, which starts at 10 a.m., will begin and end at Woodstock Elementary School on Rope Mill Road.

The procession will travel up Main Street to Towne Lake Pkwy, turn left on Mill Street, right on Market Street, left on Fowler Street, left on Main Street and veer left onto Rope Mill Road to make its way back to the school.

The fun doesn’t end there. After the parade, residents can head over to the Park at City Center for the annual FreedomFest. The festival, which will go until 3 p.m., will include food, live music, children’s games, a cake walk, arts and crafts, Adam the Juggler and various vendors.

The annual event will wrap up with fireworks at dusk behind the Woodstock Square shopping center on Highway 92 at Woodstock Square Avenue.
