WOODSTOCK, GA — Cherokee Sheriff's Office Internet Crimes Against Children detectives arrested a third suspect in seven days on Friday when they arrested a 69-year-old Chatsworth man near Woodstock.

Wayne Wilderom traveled to an undisclosed park in southern Cherokee County to pick up what he thought was going to be two 14-year-old girls for sex. Wilderom communicated with both "girls" and sent nude images of himself prior to traveling to Cherokee County. Wilderom was arrested and is now in the Cherokee County Detention Center being held without bond.

Wilderom is charged with two counts of attempted child molestation, two counts of pandering to a person under the age of 18, two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, two counts of computer or electronic pornography and two counts of obscene internet contact with a child.

Investigators with the Cherokee Sheriff's Office arrested another man on Nov. 16 who attempted to meet with what he thought was a 13-year-old girl for sex.

An Internet Crimes Against Children investigator has been communicating with Michael Hulsey, 46, of Macon, since mid-September. During that time, Hulsey is accused of sending several images of himself and making arrangements for the girl to come to his home near Macon.

Initially Hulsey made arrangements to travel to Cherokee County to meet the "13-year-old," but then later agreed to pick her up at a bus station if she would travel to Macon.

Twiggs County deputies arrested Hulsey at his home Nov. 16 on Cherokee County for 13 counts of obscene internet contact with a child, electronically furnishing obscene material to minors, two counts of child molestation, child exploitation and three counts of use of computer service to commit an illegal act.

A third man, from Athens, is back in custody for a second time in less than two months for communicating with what he thought was a 13-year-old girl, but was in fact a Cherokee Sheriff's Office Internet Crimes Against Children investigator.

On Sept. 29, James Wesley Smith, 21, was arrested and charged with two counts of obscene internet contact with a child, electronically furnishing obscene material to a minor and sexual exploitation of children.

Smith bonded out of the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center on Oct. 17 and despite the fact that one of his conditions of bond was "shall have no internet access," he started communicating within three weeks of his release with Cherokee Sheriff's Investigators who he believed was the same girl he had been communicating with in September, officials said.

New charges were filed, and Smith was arrested by Athens-Clarke County officers at his home Nov. 18 night. Smith is now charged with two counts of obscene internet contact with a child.
