Jeremy Peter Simpson is accused of pointing a firearm at Woodstock officers who were responding to a shots fired call.

WOODSTOCK, GA -- A Cherokee County man has been indicted on three counts of aggravated assault in connection to an officer-involved shooting that left him injured.

A Cherokee County grand jury indicted Jeremy Peter Simpson on three counts of aggravated assault on a peace officer stemming from the November 2015 incident, which occurred at a home in the 1300 block of Yorkshire Lane.

Officers with the Woodstock Police Department responded to a call of shots fired around 11:20 p.m. Nov. 11 at the home, which sits off Londonderry Drive south of Highway 92.

Officers arrived on the scene, located and made contact “with a subject with a gun” at the home, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation previously told Patch.

Officers gave "verbal commands" to Simpson to drop the weapon. The man did not comply, "resulting in the shooting incident," the GBI previously said.
