WOODSTOCK, GA -- National Police Week is upon us, and Woodstock is hosting several events to honor the men and women of our law enforcement agencies. The events this week are listed below:
Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony - Wednesday May 17, 7:00 p.m.
2016 saw 144 American law enforcement officers lose their lives in the line of duty. The annual ceremony, at 7:00 p.m. at the Park at City Center in downtown Woodstock will have a keynote address given by Cherokee County Sheriff Frank Reynolds.

Hustle for Heroes 5k and One-Mile Kids Fun Run - Saturday May 20, 7:30 a.m.
The Woodstock Public Safety Foundation, a local nonprofit, is hosting its fifth annual "Hustle for Heroes" run. Attendees will run alongside Metro Atlants SWAT teams in the event which has been dubbed "the only place in Georgia to legally attempt to outrun the cops!" The 5k starts at 7:30 a.m. and the kids Fun Run will start at 8:30 a.m. Awards will be given out for best overall male/female, top hero (police/fire/EMT) and for each age group. To register, go to www.active.com and use the keyword Hustle for Heroes. Registration is available at the race, as well, and starts at 7:00 a.m.

Sixth Annual WPSF Spring Festival - Saturday May 20, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The Sixth Annual Woodstock Public Safety Foundation Spring Festival will be held at the new Northside Hospital-Cherokee Amphitheater in downtown Woodstock. There will be music, activities for kids, public safety demonstrations, and food and merchandise vendors. The Georgia Law Enforcement Moving Memorial, which honors the nearly 700 Georgia law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty, will be on display. All proceeds will go directly to charitable programs of the WPSF, including Shop with a Hero, Emergency Aid to First Responders, Specialized Equipment and Training, and other programs that all benefit public safety.
