• Cherokee County courthouse closed following hazmat contamination (fox5atlanta.com) — Most Cherokee County court business has been shifted to temporary locations after a hazmat incident shut down the Frank C. Mills III Justice Center, with in-person clerk services now handled at the Court Annex on Towne Lake Parkway in Woodstock. Jury trials and juvenile proceedings are continuing in alternate formats and locations in Canton and online while officials work to clear the contaminated building.
   

• Walmart is 3D printing the future of big box stores (fastcompany.com) — A Woodstock-based construction firm, FMGI, is helping Walmart roll out 3D-printed store expansions across several states, positioning local expertise at the center of a major retail experiment. The company operates robotic concrete printers for full-scale buildings and dozens of planned projects through 2027, showcasing how a Woodstock business is influencing the future of big-box construction.
   

• Richard "Rich" Ptacin (chattanoogan.com) — A member of the Ptacin family, Julie Dixon, now lives in Woodstock, connecting our community to the life of her father, Richard "Rich" Ptacin, who passed away in Roswell at 88. His obituary highlights his long career with DuPont, deep Catholic faith in Chattanooga, love of music, and devotion to family, with services set for September 12 in Chattanooga.
