• Scarecrow Invasion returns to downtown Woodstock with nearly 200 displays (wsbradio.com) — Woodstock is gearing up for its 18th annual Scarecrow Invasion, with 192 downtown display spots available and registration now open on a first-come, first-served basis. Locals are lining up hours early to secure prime locations, and organizers say the October displays have become one of downtown Woodstock's busiest, most festive draws of the year.
   

• Spooky season: NETHERWORLD voting, Woodstock scarecrows, theater tours (fox5atlanta.com) — Downtown Woodstock's popular Scarecrow Invasion is returning, with registration open at the Woodstock Visitor Center through September for businesses, nonprofits, and residents who want to claim display spots. Fees, voting plans, and timing are laid out, alongside other metro Atlanta Halloween attractions, giving you plenty of time to plan your fall fun close to home.
