Suspects Unknown, Reward Offered For Fatal Shooting At Woodstock Party

Crime Stoppers Atlanta is offering $2,000 for information leading to the arrest or indictment of the suspect involved in the fatal shooting.

WOODSTOCK, GA — Detectives with the Cherokee Sheriff's Office continue to investigate the shooting of two teenagers that occurred Sunday morning on Victoria Road.

Deputies have received several tips from the public, conducted multiple interviews, and continue to review videos that were taken by individuals at the party. The suspect, or suspects, has not been identified at this time.

The 19-year-old victim, who was shot in the hand and elbow, is identified as Jaden Simmons, of Mableton. The 14-year-old, who died from his injuries, has been identified as Landon Andrews, of Marietta.

Early Sunday morning, an altercation occurred at West 22 Apartments, at 3615 Cherokee St. NW, in Kennesaw. Part of that altercation was on video, and investigators believe that people in the video ended up at a party in Cherokee County, and that the shooting was related to that fight.

Spokesman Capt. Jay Baker told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that deputies have interviewed witnesses who came forward, but do not have a suspect as of Monday morning.

The shooting happened before 1:30 a.m. Sunday at a house party on Victoria Road. Police found Andrews in the back of an SUV with a gunshot wound to the torso, Baker told the AJC. He later died at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital.

Simmons was later taken to Northside Cherokee Hospital with gunshot wounds to his hand and elbow, and he was soon released.
