From Cherokee Schools: River Ridge High School junior Caroline Bulger has won a mini-research grant from the prestigious New York Institute of Technology!
She earned the award for her work on “The effects of ocean acidification on calcifying benthic organisms.” Under the mentorship of River Ridge HS Scientific Research teacher Chris Akins and Advanced Genetics teacher Henley Sawicki, Caroline will use the grant monies to continue researching the severity and extent of how water pollution affects sea organisms.
“Caroline’s entry stood out among the many submitted for its scientific merit and potential impact and contribution to the field of science and technology,” Principal Darrell Herring said. “River Ridge congratulates this superlative knight.
