Cherokee County 911 dispatchers received a call around 1:18 p.m. April 6 from a citizen who reported seeing an unknown man enter his neighbor's house on Cedar Creek Way through a dog door, the Cherokee Sheriff's Office said in a press release.

Cedar Creek Way is located between Allatoona Lake and Victoria Road.

Those 911 operators, utilizing an Automated Vehicle Locator (AVL) system, were able to notify a lieutenant in the area of the possible break-in. That system enhances the capabilities of the county's Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system by providing in-car mapping capabilities to numerous emergency vehicles.

This helps reduce response times by choosing sheriff's office units for dispatch by their proximity to calls.

Once on the scene, the lieutenant along with two deputies and a K-9, entered the home and began to clear the structure. That's when deputies located Jarred Ray Lemming, 28, of Dallas, naked inside the home, according to the agency.

Lemming told authorities he allegedly came to the house to take a shower, wash his clothes and use the Wi-Fi on his cell phone.

Lemming stated he had once lived at the house over a year ago, but had since moved out, the sheriff's office said. The homeowner confirmed Lemming's story, but added the man "had no reason to be in the house at this time."

Lemming was booked into the Cherokee County Adult Detention center on one count of burglary under the Family Violence Act. He was booked under that charge since he once lived at the home with the victim.

He remains at the jail without bond.
