Woodstock Armed Robbery Suspects Charged With Murder

The two men charged with robbing a patron outside the outlet mall are accused of fatally shooting a man outside a popular Cobb restaurant.

COBB COUNTY, GA -- Two men charged in connection to an October 2016 armed robbery in Woodstock are now facing a more serious allegation in a neighboring jurisdiction.

Cobb County police have charged Demarious Kevauh Greene, 21, and Dylan Marquis Ledbetter, 22, each with felony murder, armed robbery and aggravated assault stemming from a fatal shooting outside Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen on Windy Hill Road, said spokesperson Alicia Chilton.

Both Greene and Ledbetter were arrested by Woodstock police on charges they robbed a patron at gunpoint on Oct. 11, 2016, in the parking lot of the Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta.

Cobb police say Anthony and Cynthia Welch were leaving Pappadeaux Windy Hill Road on Oct. 7 when two men walked up to them and opened fire. Anthony Welch was fatally wounded in the shooting.

On Oct. 15, a little more than week after the shooting and following the armed robbery at the mall, officers responded to the Windy Hill Road corridor in an effort to locate a vehicle, which police believed contained the suspects involved in the shooting.

This vehicle was also being sought in connection with other armed robberies in the metro Atlanta area. Cobb officers attempted to pull over the 2015 gray Ford Focus in the parking lot of a Shell gas station, but the driver accelerated towards one of the cops, the agency previously told Patch.

After striking an officer with the car, officers fired multiple rounds at the driver, later identified as Ledbetter, a resident of Pompano Beach, Florida. He was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for gunshot wounds to the leg and arm, and later booked into the Cobb County Jail on obstruction, aggravated assault on a police officer and an attempted murder warrant issued out of Florida.

Greene, a Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, resident and front seat passenger, fled the scene after the collision, but was captured a short distance away. He was charged with obstruction of an officer.

Both men remain held without bond at the jail.
