Woodstock, Etowah Graduates Awarded $5,000 Scholarships

WOODSTOCK, GA -- The Cobb EMC Community Foundation recently awarded 14 scholarships to local students across Cobb EMC’s service territory.

Each recipient will receive a $5,000 scholarship, which can be applied to any accredited two or four-year university, college or vocational-technical school. The students winning a scholarship are:

• Grace Albright of Etowah High School
• Helena Brante of Allatoona High School
• Ethan Delashmit of Darlington School
• Briana Delvasto of Woodstock High School
• Derek Goshay of Lassiter High School
• Asia Hypsher of Marietta High School
• Veena Jaipradeep of Milton High School
• Victoria Kraj of Wheeler High School
• Dominique Morris of South Cobb High School
• Shivani Narine of Wheeler High School
• Timothy Riordan of Blessed Trinity Catholic High School
• Archelle Thelemaque of Kennesaw Mountain High School
• Maria Vargas of Osborne High School
• Alexis Watson of Allatoona High School

The recipients were selected from over 215 eligible applicants, and they are accepted in undergraduate degree programs at accredited and technical institutes. Chattahoochee Technical College, Emory University, MIT, University of Georgia and Yale are among the colleges the recipients will attend this fall.

The annual scholarship was created in 2014 and is funded and administered by the Cobb EMC Community Foundation, a third-party foundation, set up to administer and distribute the funds collected through Operation Round Up.
