All six traditional high schools in the Cherokee County School District were named to the list.

The six traditional high schools in the Cherokee County School District have all been named to The Washington Post’s list of America’s Most Challenging High Schools.
The list ranks schools through an index formula that includes the number of Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate and Advanced International Certificate of Education tests given at a school each year, divided by the number of seniors who graduated that year.

A ratio of 1.000 means the school had as many tests as graduates. This year, just 11 percent of the approximately 22,000 U.S. public high schools managed to earn placement on the list.
The rankings for Georgia schools, which can be viewed here, includes Cherokee at 125; Creekview at 83; Etowah at 126; River Ridge at 100; Sequoyah at 109; and Woodstock at 96.
