The only Georgia city on the list, Money magazine notes Woodstock’s population has more than doubled in the last 10 years. The city, which has just over 26,000 residents, is known for ”attracting residents with its proximity to Atlanta, just 30 miles to the south, affordable housing and strong job growth.”
Money magazine also cites The Park at City Center, the annual Christmas Jubilee Parade, Elm Street Cultural Arts Village, Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta and Reformation Brewery as strong attractions.
Woodstock also has an equal diverse lineup of outdoor recreational activities, according to the magazine. Olde Rope Mill Park serves as home to the popular Taylor Randahl Mountain Bike Trails, the pedestrian bridge over Little River and remnants of the park’s namesake.
For those who like a more laid back setting, the smaller Dupree Park on Neese Road comes with a fishing pond, basketball courts and and a new family mountain biking trail.
