Woodstock Police Officers Take The Ice Bucket Challenge

The Woodstock Police Department on Thursday joined in the craze, which raises awareness of the ALS Association and Lou Gehrig's Disease.

The women and men of the Woodstock Police Department were nominated by Abbey Moss to participate in the ALS IceBucket Challenge.

The agency accepted the challenge and, in turn, challenged the following agencies: Chief Ken Ball and Holly Springs Police Department; Chief Robert Merchant and Canton Police Department; Chief Byron Reeves and Ball Ground Police Department; Chief Jim Kourey and Nelson Police Department; Sheriff Roger Garrison and Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office; and Shannon Wallace and the Blue Ridge Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office.

Each officer that participated in Thursday’s event donated to the ALS Association – Georgia Chapter, which totaled $330. Anyone who refuses the challenge is asked to make a donation to ALS Association or a charity of their choice.

Woodstock officers enlisted the help of the Woodstock Fire Department, who used a ladder truck to spray participating officers with a water hose.
