ENV Responds To Sanitary Sewer Overflow In Manoa

Approximately 1,416 gallons entered a nearby storm drain, while ENV recovered 3,000 gallons. The spill was on-going.

HONOLULU The Department of Environmental Services (ENV) responded last night to a sanitary sewer overflow in Manoa.

Wet weather caused untreated wastewater to discharge out a manhole at 2710 Ka‘aipu Ave. ENV received a call at 4:48 p.m. and arrived at the site at 5:20 p.m. A total of 5,850 total gallons spilled. Approximately 1,416 gallons entered a nearby storm drain, while ENV recovered 3,000 gallons. The spill was on-going.

ENV notified the state Department of Health (DOH). Warning signs will be posted today.
