Recreation (DPR) will be offering virtual activities as part of our upcoming spring program.

Registration for our virtual park activities will begin on Tuesday, Jan. 19 at 9 a.m. (HST) via our Parks & Recreation Online System (PROS). That system can be accessed by accessing the official DPR website or visiting pros.hnl.info.

With the pandemic restrictions in mind, DPR staff focused on providing activities that can be conducted virtually or by using physically-distanced, drop-off opportunities. A majority of the activities will be conducted via Zoom conference meetings, with access links provided to registered participants at least one day before the first class. Use of a computer, tablet, or smartphone with internet access and functioning camera & speaker will be necessary for those activities.

Although the way we enrich our island community is modified, there will still be a wide variety of educational, exercise, and enjoyment opportunities available virtually to participants of all ages.

There are over 400 virtual class opportunities available this spring, with subjects including but not limited to:

  • Aerobics
  • Arts & crafts (beading, origami, painting, sewing, etc.)
  • Book clubs
  • Cooking
  • Dancing (hip hop, hula, line dancing, etc.)
  • Joke and story telling
  • Karaoke
  • Keiki education
  • Lei making
  • Music lessons (guitar, kanikapila, ukulele, etc.)
  • Senior clubs
  • Sports skills (basketball, pickleball, volleyball, etc.)
  • Trivia
  • Yoga
  • Wide variety of other games

Virtual spring activities are scheduled to begin the week of Feb. 1, 2021.
