• County Adds Weekend Help for Earthquake Disaster Assistance Residents Have Until Nov. 1 to Apply for Federal Aid (howzitkohala.com) — Kealakekua residents can get in-person help applying for federal earthquake assistance every Friday from noon to 4 p.m. at the local state library branch on Māmalahoa Highway. Additional resource centers in Captain Cook and at the Sunday Pure Kona Green Market offer support from FEMA and SBA, but you must submit a formal application by Nov. 1 to be considered for aid.
