📰 News we're reading

1. Driving a stolen truck, juvenile leads deputies on chase in south Boise (idahostatesman.com) — A 12-year-old boy was arrested after Ada County deputies chased a stolen truck and trailer through several south Boise streets Saturday, ending with a PIT maneuver in a dead-end neighborhood. After hospital clearance, he was booked into juvenile detention, and investigators are still seeking tips about other suspects and a missing white 2014 Can-Am Commander UTV.

2. Boise Pride returns for 37th year, highlighting community and connection (kivitv.com) — Boise Pride is wrapping up its 37th year at Ann Morrison Park today, with a parade stepping off at 10 a.m. near 14th and River and winding through downtown Boise. With 60,000–70,000 attendees and more than 170 vendors, organizers say the growing festival is giving LGBTQ+ Boiseans and allies a visible, connected community across the Treasure Valley.

3. Boise Pride Fireworks donation dedicated to LGBTQ+ activist (ktvb.com) — A Boise resident's $10,000 matching gift helped keep Boise Pride's fireworks and "Light Up Pride" campaign going at Ann Morrison Park, honoring his late sister's work for local LGBTQ+ and low-income communities. With corporate support dropping, organizers say individual Boise donors like him are becoming crucial to sustaining Pride events and services.

4. 415 Paper Airplanes In 60 Minutes (aero-news.net) — A Boise YMCA racquetball court was the setting for David Rush's latest Guinness World Record, folding 415 qualifying paper airplanes in just one hour. Each plane had to meet strict folding and flight rules, with helpers tossing them to verify distance. Rush now plans to chase a speed record for folding and throwing a single plane.

5. Former Homeless Boise Man Wins Lottery and Gives Back to Interfaith (news-usa.today) — A Boise man who once relied on Interfaith Sanctuary for shelter has donated $20,000 from an Idaho Lottery win back to the organization, helping keep beds and support programs available for others. His gift underscores how crucial Boise's emergency housing and recovery services are for residents working to escape homelessness and addiction, especially as local shelters face ongoing financial strain.
