1. One dead, one injured in wreck involving semi that's left Highway 20 completely shut down near Idaho Falls (idahopress.com) — Highway 20 west of Idaho Falls was completely shut down Friday after a multi-vehicle crash involving a semi killed a 29-year-old Idaho Falls man and injured another driver. State police say the wreck happened midafternoon, and the investigation into what caused the collision is still underway.
   

2. Art Museum of Eastern Idaho chooses Big-D Construction to bring Education Center vision to life (postregister.com) — A major expansion is coming to The Art Museum of Eastern Idaho in Idaho Falls, with Big-D Construction selected to build a three-story Education Center along the Riverwalk on South Capital Avenue. The project will add galleries, classrooms, accessible entry, and storage, and museum leaders are continuing to fundraise while highlighting support from local firms and residents who want more space for school tours and family programs.
   

3. Local woman accused of hitting a pedestrian with her vehicle and fleeing scene (eastidahonews.com) — An Idaho Falls woman is charged with leaving the scene of an injury crash after a runner was reportedly struck near Boston Court and suffered road rash along her left side. Police say witnesses helped identify the vehicle, the driver later returned, and she now faces felony and misdemeanor charges with a preliminary hearing set for Oct. 2.
   

4. First Hispanic woman in space shares memories of historic NASA career with Idaho Falls crowd (eastidahonews.com) — Idaho Falls residents recently packed the Battelle Energy Alliance Future Tech Building to hear astronaut Ellen Ochoa, the first Hispanic woman in space, reflect on her four shuttle missions and NASA career. Now living in Boise, she shared stories about zero gravity, building the International Space Station, and the fragility of Earth's atmosphere, inspiring a crowd of about 250 at the Village Improvement Society event.
