• USDA Designates Four Idaho Counties as Primary Natural Disaster Area (usda.gov) — Kootenai County farmers are now eligible for USDA emergency loans because it borders Idaho counties hit hardest by this year's severe drought. Local producers can apply through their USDA Service Center for help replacing equipment or livestock, reorganizing operations, or refinancing certain debts, with applications accepted through May 10, 2027.
