• Kootenai structure fire claims one life (hagadonenewsnetwork.com) — A deadly early-morning house fire on North Kootenai Road claimed one resident's life and shut the road for several hours as multiple fire agencies fought heavy flames and a partial collapse. Investigators are still determining the cause, noting a wood stove, portable heaters, and extension cords inside, and officials are urging Kootenai residents to review home fire safety and prevention steps.
