U.S. News and World Report crunched the numbers, releasing its annual list of best public high schools in the country and ranking the schools on a national and a state level. Illinois has a number of schools that are among the nation's best.

According to Niche.com, the elementary schools rankings are based on "rigorous analysis" of key statistics from the U.S. Department of Education, as well as reviews from students and parents.
