2 DUI Arrests, 33 Citations Issued During LITH Holiday Enforcement Detail
Lake in the Hills Police will be conducting their next enforcement campaign over the Super Bowl weekend.

From December 18th through January 3rd the Lake in the Hills Police conducted extra enforcement details to remove intoxicated motorists from the roadways.
During that time frame the Lake in the Hills Police conducted forty five additional hours of overtime enforcement. In those forty five hours the Lake in the Hills Police conducted thirty four traffic stops for various violations of the Illinois Vehicle Code.

Two drivers were arrested for driving while intoxicated; one person was arrested for driving with a suspended license and possession of a controlled substance. An additional thirty three citations were issued for violations of the Illinois Vehicle Code.
“Its enforcement campaigns like this that show that motorists are voluntary complying with not drinking and driving” said Sergeant Eric Decker, Supervisor of the Lake in the Hills Police Traffic Unit. “This holiday season the arrests for driving under the influence were lower than we have seen in the past and that’s a great sign. People are getting the message. You drink, you drive and you lose”
