Algonquin Barn Destroyed In Fire, Likely Accident

Luckily, the barn wasn't attached to the owners' home. Nobody was hurt in the fire.

ALGONQUIN, IL — A small barn fire in Algonquin early Tuesday morning is under investigation, according to reports.

The barn, measuring about 18 by 25 feet, according to the Northwest Herald, was destroyed in the fire which fire officials believe to have been accidental.

Assistant Fire Chief Mike Kern said the barn, which burned down around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, was at 701 Roger St. and not attached to the owners' home. The residents were asleep at the time of the fire and nobody was injured, according to the Herald.

Though the fire appeared to be accidental, fire officials said, they are investigating.

The fire got responding units from Algonquin-LITH, Cary, Fox River Grove, Huntley and Crystal Lake.
