Algonquin Dentist Accused Of Sex Abuse Free On Bail
Eman A. Shirazi, 42, of Lakewood allegedly sexually assaulted a person while at Water Tower Family Dental.

ALGONQUIN, IL – An Algonquin dentist spent less than 24 hours in jail after being charged this past week with sexual assault. Eman A. Shirazi posted his bail and was released from the McHenry County Jail Wednesday morning, according to online jail records.
He was arrested at his dental practice, Water Tower Family Dental, and booked at the local jail at 4:35 p.m. on Tuesday following an investigation into a sexual assault that occurred at Water Tower Family Dental earlier this month, police said Tuesday. Shirazi, 42, of Lakewood, has been charged with criminal sexual assault, criminal sexual abuse and unlawful restraint.
Shirazi was released at 9:05 a.m. on Wednesday after posting $12,500. As a condition of his bail, the local dentist will not be allowed to have any contact with the alleged victim, the Northwest Herald reports.

Shirazi's arrest came following an ongoing investigation into the sex assault that reportedly occurred at the family dental practice. The victim in the incident reported having a professional relationship with Shirazi and the dental practice, according to the news release from the Algonquin Police Department. The age of the victim was not immediately available.
McHenry County Assistant State’s Attorney John Gibbons would not comment Wednesday in regards to the relationship between Shirazi and the victim, according to the Northwest Herald.

Police believe the assault was an isolated incident at the business and an investigation is continuing by members of the Algonquin Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division.
Shirzai took over the dental practice in 2005, according to Water Tower Family Dental's website. The site lauds the "award-winning" business as one of the most respected dental offices in Illinois.
