Algonquin, Lake in the Hills Ranked Among the Best Small Towns in Illinois

The Wallethub rankings determined Algonquin was the second best small town in the state while LITH was No. 5 on the list.

Algonquin and Lake in the Hills have been ranked among the best small town in Illinois, according to recent Wallethub findings.

Wallethub, a personal finance website, looked at 1,268 towns with populations between 25,000 and 100,000 to determine its rankings. The website took into consideration the following factors in determining the best small towns: Affordability, economic health and quality of life. Wallethub ranked Algonquin as the second best small town in the state and placed Lake in the Hills at No. 5 on its list. Nearby, Crystal Lake was ranked as the best small town in the state. McHenry was the only other McHenry County town to make the list at No. 3. Reboot Illinois has a full list of the top 25 best and worst cities in Illinois.
