Algonquin Trustees to Vote on Longmeadow Parkway Jurisdictional Agreement

The village board is expected to vote Tuesday night on a jurisdictional transfer of Longmeadow Parkway from the village to Kane County.

The Algonquin Village Board on Tuesday is expected to vote on transferring jurisdictional rights on portions of the proposed Longmeadow Parkway bridge corridor project over to Kane County, the Northwest Herald reports.

The village is set to vote on a local agency agreement for the jurisdictional transfer of Longmeadow Parkway from the village to the county and to approve an intergovernmental agreement between the village and county regarding Longmeadow Parkway, according to the Algonquin Village Board meeting agenda.

This means, if the first agreement is approved, the county would assume jurisdiction of Longmeadow Parkway from Randall Road to about 200 feet east of White Chapel Road. The second agreement outlines responsibilities the village and the county will assume in regards to the 5.6-mile, four-lane roadway, according to the Northwest Herald.
