The 'Everything But The Bird' food drive at Sleepy Hollow Elementary School was very successful. Each grade was assigned a certain Thanksgiving side item to collect by the PTC Make A Difference Committee. The grade that collected the most items per student was awarded with an apple and pumpkin pie party.
Approximately 800 food items were collected for The Carpentersville F.I.S.H. pantry. The fourth graders brought in 327 cans of corn. This positioned them as the winning grade with an average donation of over 3 items per student.
It was great to see so many families contribute to the food drive. As a result, a few hundred families in need will enjoy a bountiful feast this Thanksgiving.
