Boil Order Lifted in Lake in the Hills

The precautionary boil order has been lifted for homes east of Crystal Lake Road.

LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL - A precautionary boil order issued for homes east of Crystal Lake Road in Lake in the Hills has been lifted after lab results showed there were no contaminants in the system, village officials said Tuesday morning.

The boil order was issued Sunday evening after a number of residents on the east side of the village began to "notice diminished water pressure," according to a village of LITH press release. Employees with the village's water division responded and found the water level in the the water tower on the east side of town was extremely low.

The boil order was issued as a precautionary measure for homes affected by the low water pressure east of Crystal Lake Road.

Water samples sent to a laboratory for analysis showed there were no contaminants present in the water system, according to an update posted on the Lake in the Hills Police Department Facebook page.

"Village staff will be out once again, hand delivering notices to all affected homes and businesses stating the boil order is no longer in effect," village officials said.
