Huntley Girls Basketball Drop Third in a Row

The Huntley Red Raider girls basketball team lost their third straight game to Crystal Lake South, 46-36.

Huntley dropped a home Valley Division contest to Crystal Lake South, 46-36.

The loss left the Red Raiders at 5-3 in the conference and 11-9 overall and was their third straight loss since defeating Cary-Grove on January 14th.

The Gators forced Huntley into 24 turnovers for the game and this was a big factor in the outcome.  The score was tied 7-7 at the end of the first quarter and Huntley took an 18-15 lead into halftime.  The Raiders, who led by as many as 7 points in the second half, clung to a 2 point lead after three quarters at 28-26.

Turnovers and poor defense were the keys to this game.  Huntley allowed South to score 20 points in the fourth quarter.  The Gators finished the game on an 8-0 run.

Sophomore Sam Andrews led the Red Raiders with 14 points.  Abbey Shaw added 7 and Haley Ream 6.
