Huntley Wins Valley Division Showdown
The Huntley boys basketball team took over sole possession of first place in the Fox Valley Conference Valley Division with a victory over Dundee-Crown.
Huntley and Dundee-Crown were both 5-0 in the Fox Valley Conference Valley Division heading into Saturday nights first place showdown. Huntley came away with a 45-40 victory that puts them in sole possession of first place.
The Chargers came out with some hot shooting at home in the first quarter as they hit four 3-pointers to take a 14-10 lead. Huntley then stepped up their defense and pulled to within a point at 20-19 at halftime.
The Red Raiders continued the tough defense in the second half and did not allow the Chargers to score another three pointer after the first quarter. Huntley grabbed their first lead of the game in the third quarter as Junior guard Bryce Only scored on a drive to the basket.

Dundee-Crown came back and took a brief lead before Junior Ryan Craig hit a jumper to put Huntley up for good. Huntley won the game at the free throw line as they made more free throws (14 for 20) than DC attempted (11).
Only finished with a game high 14 points and Craig was also in double figures with 10. Senior Justin Frederick also scored 10 points (all in the second half) including an 8 for 10 performance from the line.

Huntley is now 17-2 and 6-0 in the Valley Division.
