Little Brothers With Big Needs
Little Brothers Thomas and Jeremy, both from Marengo, have been on our waiting list the longest of any of our waiting children.

It is already the Wednesday before Christmas! For this week’s ‘Waiting Wednesday’ I have decided to introduce TWO very special boys from Marengo. These young boys have been on our waiting list the longest of all of our waiting children. Thomas has been waiting over 500 days for us to find him the right Big Brother. Jeremy has been waiting exactly 429 days for his Big Brother. Please don’t let these children lose hope! What better way to give this holiday season than to become a mentor and start a positive change in a child’s life? Do you know someone who could give the gift of their friendship to Thomas or Jeremy?
Thomas
Thomas is 12 years old and has never met his father. He has had a very difficult upbringing that has affected him greatly. He lacks any consistent positive adult role models in his life. Thomas is very friendly, but struggles socially and tends to struggle in school. He needs a special Big Brother who is caring, patient, and most importantly consistent. He would be very excited to try new activities with his Big Brother. Some of the things Thomas would enjoy are Lazer Tag, Medieval Times, video games, riding bikes, and soccer.
Jeremy
Ten year old Jeremy from Marengo is eager for attention. He not only lacks a positive male role model, but also lacks self-confidence. Jeremy could benefit greatly from a Big Brother who could help him believe in himself. Jeremy does not need a very active Big Brother, but simply someone who is willing to give him their time and attention. He likes playing his video games, going to the movies, and playing outside at the park.

All it takes is a few hours, a couple times a month. Here at Big Brothers Big Sisters we have seen so many of our volunteers get as much back from their ‘Little’ as they have given! If you or someone you know is interested in becoming a Big Brother to Thomas, Jeremy, or any other waiting child, please don’t hesitate to contact our office at 815-385-3855 or visit our website at www.bbbsmchenry.org.
