Top-Seeded Barbs Eliminate Red Raiders
Regional host DeKalb showed why they are the #1 seed as they came back from an early deficit to defeat Huntley in the Class 4A Regional.
The Huntley girl’s basketball season is over as they fell in the Class 4A Regional final to the top-seeded DeKalb Barbs, 55-40.
Things looked good early for the Red Raiders as they jumped out to a 7-0 lead. The 26-4 Barbs quickly got things on track and took a 7 point lead into halftime.
Huntley was dealt a tough blow when starting guard Kayla Linthicum went out for the game with a knee injury in the first quarter.

DeKalb continued their strong play in the third quarter as they pushed their lead to as many as 11 points. Huntley was led by Sam Andrews and Haley Ream who both dropped in 14 points. Haley also pulled down 6 rebounds. Abbey Shaw added 5 points all on free throws. The girls finished the season at 13-15.
