Cat Dies in House Fire in Algonquin; Neighbors Save Dog

The blaze broke out at the home on Menoma Trail in Algonquin Thursday morning.

Neighbors to a home on Menoma Trail in Algonquin were able to save a dog from a blaze Thursday morning, according to the Northwest Herald.

The blaze broke out in the 1400 block of Menoma Trail at about 7 a.m. Debbie Klinger told the Northwest Herald she grabbed a spare set of keys her neighbors had given her; opened the door to the home; called for their dog, Jake; and got him out of the house and across the street.

A cat did not survive the fire, according to the article. The residents were not home at the time of the blaze.
