Dog Feces Left Outside LITH Cafe After Drag Show Angers Some
UpRising Bakery and Cafe plans to host a drag show this Saturday evening despite the threats.
LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL — A bag of dog feces was left outside the door of a Lake in the Hills cafe and other threats, including a person who spit on a case at the bakery, have been leveled against the owner of a Lake in the Hills business. More people have gone online to threaten and leave bad reviews of the business, Uprising Bakery and Cafe, which opened at 2104 W. Algonquin Road in Lake in the Hills in November.
All of the upheaval centers around a drag show planned at the cafe. But Corinna Sac, the owner of UpRising Bakery and Cafe, says she will not back down and plans to still host the drag show event this Saturday, according to an ABC 7 Chicago News.
Meanwhile, police are investigating the threats and will be on high alert the day of the event as protests and counter-protests have been planned.

Critics of the Brunch at Night drag show, which has since sold out, say tickets sold at a lower price for children made it look like the business is trying to draw children to the event, according to the Daily Herald. But Sacs says the ticket price is lower because it costs less to make the meals for children. She said she worked with performers to make sure the family friendly show was not too risqué.
The Lake in the Hills Police Department has investigated concerns regarding children being able to attend the drag show and found the business to not be in violation of the village's municipal code. The performance, police say, does not include any nudity or sexually explicit content.

Police monitor the situation and will not allow any activities that disrupt the drag show, according to a Tuesday statement from the Lake in the Hills Police Department.
"The department will be taking a zero-tolerance approach for those individuals who choose to attend with plans to engage in acts of violence or criminal activity," authorities said Tuesday.
