Former Band Members of Boston to Perform at Ribfest

Are you ready to rock?

Fran Cosmo, the former lead singer of Boston, and his son Anton Cosmo, the former guitarist of Boston, will perform Boston’s top hits this weekend at Lake in the Hills Rockin’ Ribfest.

Some of the songs Anton and Fran Cosmo will perform at the fest include Walk On, Livin’ For You, Rock ‘N Roll Band, Peace of Mind, Foreplay/Long Time, So You Ran, Smokin’ and many more.

The band is expected to take the stage at 9 p.m. on Friday at Sunset Park, 5200 Miller Road in Lake in the Hills. The Rockin' Ribfest will be held from Thursday through Sunday. Tickets are $5 per person for those 13 and older and active military members with a military I.D. are free. 

For those who haven’t heard of the chart-topping band Boston, Anton described it as classic rock '70s and '80s music. He compared it to Pink Floyd, REO Speedwagon or Journey.

“If you like them, then Boston is the band to definitely come and see,” Anton said.

Anton made his debut with Boston back in 2002 at the Fiesta Bowl.

He toured with the group until 2004. Fran stepped up to the plate as a vocalist for Boston when Tom Scholz was ready to lay down tracks for Boston’s fourth album, Walk On. Fran toured with Boston in 1995, 1997, 2003 and 2004.

Anton said he and his Dad enjoy coming back together to perform the Boston songs because it is time they get to spend together.

“Me and my dad enjoy Boston music and playing together on stage,” Anton said. “This is only chance we really have to meet up because we are so busy with all of our scheduling."

The two performers now have their own single careers as well, with new albums coming out in the Fall.

“We both have our own projects and our own generations,” Anton said.
