Golfers Pull Missing Boy From Pond, Perform CPR: Police
The boy wandered away from his home in Lake in the Hills on Friday afternoon. His current condition is not immediately available.
LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL — A boy is in critical condition after wandering away from his home in Lake in the Hills on Friday afternoon. The child was later found unresponsive in a pond not far from his home.
Authorities were first called to the boy's home in the 0 to 100 block of Point O Woods Court in Lake in the Hills at about 12:35 p.m. Friday for a report of a missing male juvenile, according to a news release from the Lake in the Hills Police Department.
Golfers at the Boulder Ridge Country Club found the child, pulled him out and began performing CPR on him, police said. Paramedics arrived at the scene and took over. The boy was taken to Northwestern Medicine Hospital in Huntley.

The child was later transferred to Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital in Chicago. His current condition was not immediately available Monday morning.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.

The incident is the fourth drowning incident in Lake and McHenry counties in recent days. A 35-year-old Schaumburg man died following an incident at Fort Sheridan Beach in Lake Forest; a 3-year-old died after drowning in a pool in Lake Villa on Saturday; and a child drowned in Fox River Grove on Friday morning.
