Gordmans Opening July 21

Late last year the village board approved an 11,000-square-foot addition onto the former Wickes Furniture building to make room for Gordmans, an Omaha-based discount retailer.

For the past half a year we’ve seen the former Wickes Furniture building acquire an additional 11,000 square feet, topped off with a eggplant purple entrance.

But starting Thursday, we can see what the inside of Gordmans, 1500 S. Randall Road, will have to offer.

The national discount retailer is slated to open July 21, according to signs on the building and Gordmans’ website. The grand opening weekend will be put off until July 29-31, which is also Founders’ Days weekend.

Similar to a T.J. Maxx or Marshalls, the store will be open from 9 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. seven days a week.

In December 2010, the village board approved the 11,000-square-foot addition onto the already 47,500-square-foot building, located near .

With the addition, the , so the entrance no longer faces Randall Road, but instead faces west to Dick’s Sporting Goods.
