Ice Skating Opens On Woods Creek Lake
There will no longer be ice skating offered at Sunset Park and Stoneybrook Park, village officials said.

LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL — An ice skating rink has opened on Woods Creek Lake. The rink at Indian Trail Beach will be the village's designated rink moving forward, and there will no longer be ice skating offered at Sunset Park and Stoneybrook Park, village officials in Lake in the Hills said Tuesday.
The village uses a flag system at Indian Trail Beach, 228 Indian Trail, to communicate current ice conditions. A green flag will be displayed when the ice is safe and open for skating. A red flag will be displayed when the ice is unsafe, and the rink is closed.
The ice skating rink is marked off, so skaters can identify the safe zone, and anywhere outside that area is considered dangerous to skate on. Village staff checks the ice thickness to determine if the ice is safe.
